In February 2005, Ina, Our Lady of Peñafrancia, made her way to Miami, where the Macatangay family warmly welcomed Her. Three former Colegialas, Ann Abad, Myrna Macatangay and Emil Perez, along with their husbands, gathered on a Sunday afternoon to initiate the celebration of the Peñafrancia fiesta in South Florida. They established a tradition of hosting Ina (Bicolanos call Our Lady of Peñafrancia) in devotees' homes for nine consecutive Saturdays, starting in July and culminating in a grand fiesta celebration in September. The first inaugural Peñafrancia fiesta in South Florida took place in September 17, 2005 at St. Martha Catholic Church in Miami Shores, Florida, drawing a large attendance of both Bicolanos and non-Bicolanos, which encouraged the three couples to continue and share devotion to the community. With the guidance of Msgr. Romulo Vergara, the then pastor of the Peñafrancia Basilica in Naga City, and Fr. Michael Quilligan, pastor of Annunciation Catholic Church, Ina was enshrined at Annunciation Catholic Church on September 16, 2006. Annunciation Catholic Church, became Her permanent home in South Florida. Since then, Her fiesta has been celebrated annually in September, featuring a nine day Saturday prayer at devotees' homes starting in July and a fluvial procession, which began in September 15, 2012 at Westlake Park, Florida. Unfortunately, the fluvial procession has been suspended since 2020 due to the rise of COVID infections.

Devotees come together with a spirit of bayanihan, a Filipino tradition of community unity, to adorn the church in preparation for Her fiesta as well as decorate Ina's andas for fluvial procession.

Devotion to our Lady of Peñafrancia continues beyond the fiesta with a monthly novena at Annunciation Catholic Church. The devotees have also established the Our Lady of Peñafrancia of South Florida organization, united by their deep love and devotion for Ina, with a mission to propagate Her devotion. OLPSF actively collaborates with various prayer groups across South Florida.
